Basil Mzamane, and his daughters, Yuna and Rhoda. Rondo Rwafa laments the early deaths of his father-in-law, Mr. This has always caused resentment between him and his son, and the accident leads Rondo to feel that his father is to blame.Ī revelation of what his companion, Gaston, alludes to in their many stories: "Have you ever wondered about the Second Street accidents?" Rondo's two daughters (Yuna and Rhoda) are involved in an accident while driving home after a birthday party with their grandfather, Basil Mzamane, where, Rwafa takes the podium to criticize his son for marrying from his nemesis Basil. In actuality, he is Rondo's father, Rwafa's, political opponent. Rondo is married to Selina, the daughter of Basil Mzamane, a politician and businessman. This is clear from the fact that a small number of mourners have come simply to snap photos with him, knowing that such photos would shortly "open doors for them" Rondo's father, Rwafa, is a former minister who remains active in Zimbabwean politics. Rondo is the antagonistic character whose revenge plans opens at the beginning of the story. It takes place between Borrowdale and Bulawayo. Long take - The Sins of the Fathers, by Charles Mungoshi, is a post-colonial story set in rural Zimbabwe. Rwafa, an ex-minister and liberation war veteran, clings onto hatred and this obstinate refusal to forgive and forget causes the tragic death of his grandchildren and his son’s father-in-law, when they perish in a car crash he engineered. Forgiveness can help avert calamitous travails. Summary - In Charles Mungoshi's The Sins of the Fathers, we revisit scars of the past and appreciate how past hurts can cause present and future pain if the victims do not heal and forgive their supposed enemies. Overall, the title "The Sins of the Fathers" is appropriate for this story as it highlights the ways in which the actions and beliefs of past generations continue to shape and affect the lives of their children and future generations. However, his efforts are overshadowed by the influence of Rondo's father and the longstanding tensions between the Rwafa and Mzamane families. Mr Mzamane, on the other hand, tries to break the cycle of inherited prejudices and conflicts by encouraging Rondo to see people as individuals rather than simply as members of certain groups. This ultimately leads to conflict with his son, Rondo, who disagrees with his father's narrow-minded views and desires a different future for his own children. Similarly, Mr Rwafa's actions and beliefs are shaped by his experiences in the liberation struggle and his desire to maintain the power and status of the Rwafa family. His father's treatment of him as a child, including physical abuse and neglect, has left a lasting impact on Rondo's view of himself and his ability to be a good father to his own children. In this story, we see that the characters' relationships and actions are heavily influenced by their fathers and the experiences they had with them.įor example, Rondo's relationship with his father is strained and he struggles to understand the man's behavior. So I’ve come up with a great system that works well for our busy lives and that I think can help you too. I hate those days when we arrive home and don’t know what we are making for dinner!ĭo you ever have those days? When you serve your kid’s cold cereal and sliced cucumbers because there is not much else in the house? I have to admit that they aren’t my favourite tasks, but when I don’t stay on top of them it feels like the world is closing in on us. They are as much a never-ending chore as laundry seems to be. I am sharing my free printable weekly meal planner to make shopping for groceries easier! It’s worth pointing out that both versions can also be expanded with a microSD card, for additional storage capacity of up to 1TB. If you generally stream things from the internet, 32GB should be sufficient capacity. Whether it’s worth spending more for the higher capacity variant depends on whether you like to download content. The 32GB storage option costs $110 / £110 (roughly AU$200, though Amazon’s tablets aren’t usually released in Australia), while the larger 64GB version retails at $140 / £140 (around AU$255). As of July 2022 this is still the newest version of the tablet. The Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020) went on sale, alongside the standard Fire HD 8 and Kids’ Edition tablets, on June 3, 2020. Available with 32GB or 64GB of expandable storage.Starts at $110 / £110 with special offers.(Image credit: Future) Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus release date and price If you do, the cost of the whole package could net you a more flexible Android tablet – so it only makes sense for those committed to Amazon’s services. It’s hard to justify spending more on the Plus unless you want a more meaningful upgrade from the previous version, or if you plan to purchase the Wireless Charging Dock and use it as a part-time Echo Show. If you want an inexpensive portable entertainment device or your first Fire tablet, the standard Fire HD 8 will do just fine. It retains all of the poor parts of the standard model – average screen quality, middling performance, disappointing cameras – but splits the vote by adding a dash of speed and wireless charging support. So the Fire HD 8 Plus represents a savvy bit of marketing by Amazon. This figure will drop if you’re a heavy gamer, while sporadic use will see the longevity stretch to several days. It’s not quite seamless, but dropping the slate on the stand automatically transforms it into an Alexa-powered smart display to rival the Echo Show 8.īattery life has been boosted for both of the new tablets, too, with each now capable of approximately 12 hours of mixed usage. On the other hand, Show Mode is uniquely appealing on the Fire HD Plus, because it works with the optional Wireless Charging Dock. If you’re not a Prime subscriber, you’ll find it incredibly restrictive – particularly given the limited selection of third-party games and apps available to download. Built around Amazon’s subscription ecosystem, the skinned Android software puts the company’s content above all else, offering precious little flexibility. You can see more about expansions an globbing in your shell's documentation (using: man bash or man zshall, for bash and zsh respectively). I'm new to the Unix world and, even knowing this works in bash and zsh (the shells I've used so far), I can't guarantee this will work in any shell. You can do this by separating the first and last values by two dots (. You can easily show hidden files using the file explorer in Ubuntu-based Linux desktop environments (Gnome 3, Mate, etc.). home/user/your-folder/ With the File Explorer. Choose our hidden file and with the help of the right-click menu, delete the leading dot sign from its title. Click the Ctrl+H shortcut keys or see the Show Hidden Files option for viewing every hidden file. In this case, you can see a range was given. If you only want to show hidden files, you can use the special regex modifier below: ls -dl. To graphically unhide a file, we need to open the File Manager in our Ubuntu operating system. hidden which contains a list of files to hide. If you issue ls -a command in your home directory, you should see several files listed, some of the names starting with a dot. Gnome has launched a new convention, which is that directories can contain a file called. , just like ls, because that's what many users expect. Some graphical file managers hide files whose name begins with. I know this is old, but, one simple way to do it is: mv a/ The ls command, by default, hides files whose name begins with. Mv: cannot move 'a/.' to 'b/.': Device or resource busy However, I tried this on my test directories and got errors. Some answers suggest doing something like mv src/.* dest/. The following command options can be used: ‘-a’ or. The ‘ls’ command lists information about files (of any type, including directories). If you want to display only hidden files and do not wihc to see the hidden directories/folders, run the following command: ls -ld. It shows the list in long format which includes the permissions, owner, group, size, last-modified date, number of hard links and the filename described. To see hidden files and folders in long listing format, run the command: ls -ld. with the old, customized versions, and knowing how to find and move hidden files is a worthwhile skill. The ls command option -a will show all files and folders, including hidden ones. Yes, I suppose I could decompress the tarball directly into my home directory, but the tarball decompresses into home/rcook/., and I want to be sure I overwrite the new. So how can I get the * wildcard to find hidden files? If I do this: mkdir aĪ/.foo did not move. How can I get mv to move them?Īctually, I think the problem is not with mv, but with bash's globbing. The -h option tells ls to show human-friendly units such as M for megabytes, G for gigabytes, etc. Without this option, ls only shows filenames. The -l option tells ls to show various metadata about the file, including file size. However, when I move the contents of the unpacked tarball (which are in /tmp) to my new home directory, the hidden files do not copy ( mv /tmp/home/rcook/* /home/rcook/). The fifth column of the output shows the file size (e.g., 255K, 140K and 286K in the output above). I am migrating my home directory from an old system to a new one, and the tarball I made contains everything, including hidden files like. Similar to an aimbot which would be frowned upon in any other game. It is the usage of a tool to help you aim. In conclusion, using a ruler is cheating. It really puts me off this game sometimes. It is the fact that we now play a game where people suspect ruler or aimbot usage, simply because it has become a common thing lately. People now call me a ruler user but that is not what bothers me. Now you have to ask yourself: Is it really fair that a level 1 can do with ease immediately, what took me weeks or months to perfect, just because that level 1 is using a tool to aim? Is it really fair that the level 1 "out-aims" you in the skill or arcing, simply because he is too lazy to learn how to play the game properly? I know for a fact that I like to take pride in my aiming. They will not miss (usually) and have arced with zero skill and experience. A ruler user meanwhile, uses a tool that is not implemented in the game to aid them with their aiming. They have learnt to arc through experience and practice. People who arc (Full power skyward shots) without actual rulers do not always hit with deadly accuracy. That were "simple" ideas to limit ruler using and make ssl a bit different and funnier give an xp penality to someone that used more than X amount of time a 100 power shot(the xp penality is supposed to be consistent) if you think about that 100 power shots are just too easy and sure to hit and doesn't need to much skills,ALL lvl 80 + players use 100 power 86 angle when they can so they have 100% chance to hit their enemies,I think that it is pretty boring new game setting: bumper and portals often oblige players to shot in different ways and i think you should be able to choose how much of them you want in game(can't choose more bumps in rebound)ġ: bumper frequence of spwan: low, medium, highģ: what about more "sky" elements?would be cool it should give way higher xp and in this game mode ruler just can't work increase marksman xp: it is a really hard mode and you can't miss one time that you are dead. I have seen many players type a co-ordinate in the chat to remember it the next time.how is a ruler any different? If anyone can consider my original technique as a skill then why is a ruler so frowned upon?Ĭlick to expand.Ruler is something that can be used really easly in SSL.Mostly because now it is starigth shot to someone and kill him cause most of games are deathmatch.I have a SIMPLE suggestions to make ruler not really OP: However, before making a physical ruler I was a skilled player, and after simply jotting down my technique on a piece of paper I am considered a cheater ? All this did was give a rest to my index finger I still played exactly like before. And this can be done by any player.all you have to do is get an idea of the distance between each angle shot at a 100 power on your screen, which for me was luckily the size of my index finger (the gap between each angle shot is the same)Ībout a month ago after watching Ssundee's video on a ruler, I decided to make one. I am pretty sure most people here would consider that tactic as a "skill". A few weeks after playing I started to use my Index finger as a way to calculate my shot at a 100 power, which lined up perfectly with my screen so that each finger gap was one less angle. I first started playing this game around January and I am level 58 and have an alt 32 account. sqrt ( x1 ** 2 + x2 ** 2 + x3 ** 2 + x4 ** 2 + x5 ** 2 ) # Calculate distance from the orgin if R <= 1 : # Check for a hit Zn += 1 # If there's a hit increment Zn V5D = 2 ** d * Zn / n # The Monte Carlo calculation of the sphere volume V5Dexact = ( 8 / 15 ) * np. d = 5 # The number of dimensions n = int ( 1e5 ) # The number of Monte Carlo trials Zn = 0 for i in range ( n ): x1 = np. We cannot picture a 4-D sphere, # but mathematically the definition is obvious: x1^2+x2^2+x3^2+x4^2 < R^2. # Now we're onto something more interesting. pi # The known value of the volume of the sphere ratio = V2D / V2Dexact # Compare the calculated volume to the known volume print ( 'The volume of a', d, 'D sphere from the Monte Carlo simulation is', V2D ) print ( 'The exact volume is', V2Dexact, 'and the ratio of the two is', V2D / V2Dexact ) sqrt ( x1 ** 2 + x2 ** 2 ) # Calculate distance from the orgin if R <= 1 : # Check for a hit Zn += 1 # If there's a hit increment Zn V2D = 2 ** d * Zn / n # The Monte Carlo calculation of the sphere volume V2Dexact = np. d = 2 # The number of dimensions n = int ( 1e5 ) # The number of Monte Carlo trials Zn = 0 for i in range ( n ): x1 = np. You'll want to keep all the rods that are fishing baits on the same kite clustered close together. You don't need a lot of specialty equipment to get your boat ready to kite fish, but you can never have enough rod holders. On almost windless days, helium balloons can be employed to provide additional lift to keep the kites flying. Built of lightweight and rugged materials, there are kites tuned to fly correctly in anything from light to high winds. The kite shares some lineage with the ones you flew as a kid, but are specialized designs built to carry a payload of one or more baits in the often rough conditions offshore. This stealthy approach gives you an edge in even the most pressured fishery. The bait is suspended by the kite, with only the tantalizing motion of the baitfish visible to the predators below. Kite fishing is so successful because of the way it presents baits seductively near the surface without any terminal tackle in the water to give away the game. Though it's usually associated with sailfish, the technique catches marlin, tuna, wahoo, and even mahi from Norcal to Nova Scotia. Using a kite to keep baits thrashing on the water's surface rings the dinner bell for bluewater predators from incredible distances, and results in some of the most heart pounding strikes you'll see anywhere. Kite fishing is one of the most productive and exciting ways to catch fish. Kite fishing 101 with Tigress Outriggers & Gear © Tigress Outriggers
